Field Notebook: Commuting

Have you ever noticed how the anonimity of the car draws out the true Nascar spirit? Crazy.  I'm totally a player too.  Zoom, zoom, weaving in and out of innocent bystanders, gotta get there fast, whoops! sorry buddy!, sneak in here, cut across here, nose in - hey! you jerk! (which I mutter half-heartedly for something I did just 2 miles back).  I am a bit of a crazy driver.  I claim it; but, I prefer to think of it as "zippy" when needed, like a cab driver ... except the only person in the taxi is ... me .  Well, anyways, the morning commute has taught me to note that behind the four doors of a serene Town & Country minivan may lurk the spirit of Mario Andretti
