The Post Reprise

I had compiled a delightfully thoughtful piece on mailmen, but unfortunately Blogger inadvertently deleted it during the maintenance episode...not cool, man.  Since that time, I've forgotten most of what I've written so I leave you with this lovely picture, a note that our office mailman has been delivering post for over 30 years and that I think its a tragedy that modernity has stolen the charm from an organization whose operating creed is:

"We are mothers and fathers. And sons and daughters. Who every day go about our lives with duty, honor and pride. And neither snow, nor rain, nor heat, nor gloom of night, nor the winds of change, nor a nation challenged, will stay us from the swift completion of our appointed rounds. Ever."
