DESIGN POLICIES

Invitation Suites & Logos

For invitation suites and logos, 2 revision rounds are available to the customer after delivery of the initial proof and before the final delivery, which include minor text changes and 1 calligraphy rewrite. We recommend communicating desired changes in groups/all at once to prevent the need for additional revision rounds.

Major text changes or additional rewrites, or significant alterations to existing styles will be considered "custom work" and final invoicing will be adjusted accordingly, at the discretion of Shasta Bell Calligraphy. The customer will be notified before the work is started, if their revision requests qualify for additional custom billing. We do our best to accommodate your desired wording + content, but we reserve the right to adjust the layout or style, and substitute calligraphy with typeface as needed.

Invitation Suites Only: Once your deposit has been purchased, your supplies will be ordered. Any changes to paper/envelope/ribbon/wax seal quantity, color or style after supplies are ordered will be subject to additional charge. This does not apply to script style or layout. For example, if you have paid your deposit and your original proposal includes cream paper but after some time of consideration, you would like to switch to  gray paper - the client will be notified and billed accordingly at the discretion of Shasta Bell Calligraphy. Please let us know as soon as possible if you are considering changes to your original proposal.

Custom Illustrations & Crests

Custom illustrations, maps, large poems/vows and prints will be billed according to size and design time. Larger illustration initial proofs will be given for the approval of the client, before final inking. At that time, the client is allowed to request 1 round of  design changes. Any changes must be requested before final inking and any requests after final inking will only be honored if there are major issues with the final product at the discretion of Shasta Bell Calligraphy.

Smaller illustrations will be delivered in full color/ink. At that time, the client is allowed to request 1 round of design changes at the discretion of Shasta Bell Calligraphy.

PRODUCTION POLICIES

Production time is subject to artist availability, during our busy season (January-May), production times may be lengthened. Delivery date shall be agreed upon by Shasta Bell Calligraphy and the client before purchase, however major changes in design may affect projected production time and possibly delay your order. We do our best to honor our clients’ requested due dates, especially special event orders. Production begins at the agreed upon time, upon receipt of relevant client documents, shop policies + terms & conditions agreement forms, and supplies. For example, if we request 3 weeks to address your wedding envelopes, but we do not receive your self-provided envelopes until 2 weeks before your requested due date, we recommend you purchase a rush order + expedited shipping, or agree to an adjusted due date.

All of our wood products are created in house and different batches of wood can have slight variations. All sales are final.

Approval & Printing

All wedding, stationary and custom calligraphy clients must approve final designs before they are printed / inked. This does not apply to individual envelope addresses or place cards, but rather the general script style chosen.

All clients are responsible to double check the design during the drafting/design process and give final approval for the follow elements (but not limited to):

Paper Size & Color

Ink Color (keep ink mind, light colored inks can be difficult for older eyes to read)

Style

Font Size

Content & Spelling

All sales are final. .After final design approval is given by the client, via email or message, products will enter into production. Any requests for changes after they have been inked, printed or produced, will not be refunded. Requests for reprints will be assessed on a case by case basis and charged accordingly, the client will received a reprint estimate before work is completed.

Colors may vary slightly from what you see on your screen, and requests for reprints based on color will be assessed on a case by case basis and charged accordingly. If you are concerned about readability or color, you may request a free proof of your design before it is printed or produced.

Although we double check all of our products before shipping, human eyes sometimes miss spelling errors - if you need an envelope readdressed we will send a correction within 1 week. However, if the error is found on the address/name information sheet provided by the client, a refund will not be offered.
