Lake Winnipesaukee .... now where have I heard that name before .... oh! I know! ..."Good morning Gill... I said good morning, Gill"! Oh dear, What about Bob? has got to be one of my favorite movies of all forever and forever time. Just a few of my favorite Bob quotes...he he he, I giggle even now as I type them:
"I'm sailing! I'm sailing! I'm sailing! I sail! I'm a sailor! I sail!"
"Is this a bad time? Oh... the fam!"
"Roses are red, violets are blue, I'm a schizophrenic and so am I"
"Siggy: I mean, my dad just dropped me in the water. He let me go with no warning. I mean, I nearly drowned. My whole life passed before my eyes.Bob Wiley: You're lucky you're only 12.
Siggy: It was still grim."
Well, a little bit of the language disqualifies it from total family-friendliness but it still has that innocent story-telling wholesome-ness of the 1990's. Dear movie-makers, I really wouldn't mind more movies like this one. My favorite scene involves Siggy, his father, and diving lessons.
Speaking of "the Lake", M is going up North to the Gunflint with his pops in two weeks to fish, kayak and camp. I really enjoy that about him - how he enjoys the outdoors and yet is completely comfortable in a choir robe singing praises to Jesus in a Russian Orthodox church.
